Expiration Dates for Everyday Items

Have you ever wondered if that jar of pickles in the back of your fridge is still edible? What about that half bottle of shampoo that remains untouched in your shower? Well, wonder no more. This website provides the expiration dates for 77 everyday items. Some of the answers surprise me. Who knew that an unopened bottle of Worchester sauce can last 5-10 years? Or that lipstick only has a 2 year shelf life? Guess I should throw out my old makeup then!

Every once in a while you can find something practical on the Internet.
Thanks Toni!
I know the expiration dates of all my make-up products and throw them out promptly. I don’t want to risk exposing my face to spoiled products. What I do have a problem is convincing my mom to throw out expired food products. She thinks that by chucking a loaf of bread into the freezer, it extends the expiration date. She does that with other things too. I found expired medications (errr… other people’s expired medications…) in the fridge! And she refused to toss them because they were only a year or two past the date (only?!?!?).
The only expired thing that I personally keep, is my blog design. I think that’s waaaaaay outta date now.
Verrrrry interesting. My Worcestershire sauce ran out last night. I didn’t look for an expiration date, but remembered I’d bought it when I was married. That makes it pre-1989! Don’t eat much beef around here anymore. Thanks for the reference!
uh oh, same here, i gotta throw away 5 of my lipsticks, 3 of my eyeshadows and a mascara…:-( darn!!
