…and it was good.
Well, yesterday morning my bf and I got up (somewhat) early to watch the noon screening of “Revenge of the Sith” at the legendary and kickass Fox Theatre in Westwood Village. Although it was early in the day, I was still concerned about not getting good seats so we got there about an hour and a half in advance. Fortunately, we were among the first people in line! So it was all good.
I obviously won’t give anything away, as I hate spoilers (and I trust that you all kindly will not provide any in your comments
), but let me tell you guys that this is the best of the new trilogy. As Alexa pointed out in her comment, it more or less nicely wrapped things up. As a fangirl, however, I still have a few issues with some general inconsistencies regarding the new trilogy with the old trilogy.
Example:
1.) In “Attack of the Clones,” C3-P0 works for the Lars family for 10 years. Why on earth doesn’t Owen Lars recognize C3-Po in “A New Hope” when he and Luke purchase him and R2 from the Jawas?
2.) If “Revenge of the Sith” takes place about 20 years before “A New Hope,” why is Obi-Wan so old when he meets up with Luke, when he was only in his early 30’s in “Revenge of the Sith”?
But I digress.
Lightsaber fans will definitely get their fill of battles in this movie. Fans of course, know about the long-awaited, legendary, first battle between Anakin/Darth Vader and Obi-Wan, and IMO they won’t be disappointed. But there are other coolio lightsaber battles to satisfy the fans’ appetites.
Of course, there are still a few bits of cheesy dialogue between Anakin and Padme as they coo to each other, but fortunately the scenes don’t last very long. And best part of all is that Jar Jar is silent throughout the entire movie! Yes, it’s a small spoiler, but I think it’s worth it to get more people to watch this movie.
I’ll probably watch this movie again in about a week or so.

I’m glad to hear you enjoyed the movie and I’m even happier to hear you nitpick!
Owen not recognising C-3PO by sight could be explained by the fact that there are a lot of protocol droids in the universe and there are a lot that look just like C-3PO. (Remember in ANH when they’re on the Tantive IV; there’s Threepio and another droid that looks just like him, then on Hoth there’s a red protocol droid, and then on Bespin there’s another with even the same facial features). However, when he introduces himself to own and says “Hello, I am C-3PO, human cyborg relations” (your cue to drink if you’re playing that game), Owen should have recognised him right away.
Of course, I also wonder how Darth Vader can torture Leia in ESB and not know that it’s his own daughter.

Damn double-posts!!!
I guess all the Star Wars Geeks over in the networking department are still off watching the movie because we’ve been having all sorts of network latency issues today.
I’m more of a LOTR fan, but I did see Sith Friday night, and liked it alot. I hadn’t seen the previous newer two, altho I did catch “Clones” on tv last night. Oh, and btw, Hello, Michele sent me!
I’m glad you enjoyed the movie. I’m watching it this upcoming weekend. I can’t wait!
And Hi, Michele sent me… spreading around some cheer in the blogosphere!
i wish someone other tahn lucas would do the screenwriting (and if someone acuatlly does write it, then just someone better)…as good as the movie is (and the old ones are) the dialgoue is not very good, or was ever…i think the movie cudve been better if they’d worked on the dialogue and added some depth to the reasons as to why he turned, felt abit lame and groundless that the reason he turned to the dark side was because of padme, and not being accepted in the jedi council. fair reasons, just thought they cud’ve elaborated abit more.
