Spam Spam Spam, Everyone Hates Spam…
Published by Toni April 20th, 2005 in Uncategorized.Sheesh. The “Kittens Spaminator” plug-in doesn’t seem to work. I had to delete about 100 spam comments and trackbacks just now. Motherfuckers. Oh, and I think it’s really cute that they’ve started to spell “casino” in Japanese. Little do they know that I can read that shit and delete them anyways.
Granted, many fall under the “moderate comments” box, but I don’t enjoy going through and deleting them one by one. Also, a lot manage to get through and make it onto the blog. It’s really frustrating. Can someone recommend a stronger anti-spam plug-in for WordPress?

Note: If your response doesn't show up right away, it's possible that my Akismet spam catcher accidentally caught it. Don't worry, I'll rescue it from the moderation bin so there's no need for you to resend it.

Toni, I have the Kittens Spaminator as well. It blocks all SPAM. I have not had any SPAM with WP. However, I get a whole truck load of SPAM PINGS! And I don’t think I even have a trackback thing set up! Freaky…
Haemi- How does it block your spam? Does it send the spam to the moderation bin, or do you not see the spam at all?
I think that Kittens Spaminator doesn’t catch trackback (or Ping) spam, as you mentioned.
I have absolutely no spam whatsoever. I have no spam to moderate or delete or anything. On MT, I go through truckloads of spam to delete though, although Blacklist does a good job of keeping them off my blog…
i let blogspot take care of things =) uhm, did you consider one of those designs where people have to enter the number seen in a graphic next to it? personally i wouldn’t want to see you create accounts solely to control the spam.
Good idea wyn- like they have to type in a code? How do people install that?
I know the captcha things come installed in EE, but I don’t know about the others…
dr.Dave’s Spam Karma. It’s you’re basic plugin with it’s own install screen. Load up the digests and off you go. Teh nice thing is the spam you get gets sent to a central database. Remember Jay Allen’s MTBlacklist? You had to manually send spam.
I haven’t had a lick of spam since I installed it. It’s wicked easy to install and I get digests every 50 or so spams after they get deleted.
Tres nice.

Many thanks Penda. I’ll give that a try.
