Easy Peasy Blog Reading
Published by Toni March 30th, 2005 in Uncategorized. The other day I tinkered with my blog and changed the layout colors a bit. Today I tinkered with the actual code itself to make reading my blog all the more easy for my readers.
I finally found a plugin that allows me to show/hide posts. I never liked the idea of being taken to another page to read the whole post. It takes too long. I also made the comments as a popup for the same reason: to stay on the same page. I read on the WordPress forums that people don’t like popup windows in general, but Haloscan is a popup and that never hurt them.
I’m hoping that these slight changes will make reading and commenting my blog easier for you guys ![]()

Yow! You’re really maxing out the possibilities in WordPress! Good job!
It’s very windy in my house. Dam, that was cold *shiver*. Good job with the site!!! Keep up the fancy schmancy work!
Toni — I love the new look! I ADORE the color — I love this kind of slightly burned, toned down, pastelish pink… and I can’t get over how adorable you look in that photo! You are doing such a great job working your blog to the fine details… which puts me to shame…
Great blog just got better with cool changes.
P.S Didn’t know it was humanly possible to look that great at 28.
Hello
Your blog looks so clean and crisp. Nice color combo
I’m looking into show/hide scripts, too, since I tend to write lengthy articles. It’s a great idea.
oh i’m sleepy!!!! thanks for reorganizing your blog… didn’t see it before but i bet it’s better now.
Warchild- Thanks! I do what I can
Ronald- It was really, really windy early this morning for me, but then the wind died down.
Haemi- I got the color from a picture I had of a girl in a kimono. I had planned to use my sakura picture for the header, but when I scanned it I realized how bland and white the flowers looked against the sky. So I used PSP to “tap” into the girl’s kimono colors and found a certain shade of pink, but when I first colorized the sakura pic it was too candy pink, so I toned it down a bit.
Alex- you must either be a teenager or in your very early 20’s to think that 28 is old!
But thanks for the compliments!
Lillyanne- thanks for dropping by! Yes, I tend to write long posts too, and I don’t like my poor readers to be scrolling down forever reading one post, which is why I’ve always had the post continue on another page. But the show/hide thing is better since it doesn’t take you to other pages, which can sometimes take a while to load.
jen- I’m sleepy too! Thanks for reminding me. I was thinking of doing some work, but I’m sleepy and tired. Thanks for stopping by! Please come back soon!
hey toni, loved the old template colors, love the new colors…
I’ve been so busy toni, yep it’s me Ngakaari.
